Dubai remains a popular choice for those seeking luxury and it’s not difficult to see why.

Situated on the south shore of the Arabian Gulf, just a seven hour flight from the UK, this luxury destination is one of seven Emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. Enjoying guaranteed sunshine, beautiful beaches and turquoise waters, Dubai is a fabulous choice whether you’re thinking about a family vacation, an exotic honeymoon or perhaps even the perfect wedding abroad.

A subtropical climate, Dubai experiences very little rain and can achieve temperatures of up to 48° in summer and a much more comfortable average of 25° in winter, making it the perfect destination for a golf holiday. Dubai is also an extremely popular destination if you’re looking for a luxurious spa vacation.

A destination of distinct contrasts, it portrays a cultural blend of ’old meets new’ and ’east meets west’. Undoubtedly the beach draws the majority of Dubai’s visitors. This is no surprise given the staggering choice of landmark hotels, including Jumeirah Burj al Arab, Jumeirah Madinat, One & Only Royal Mirage, The Ritz-Carlton, Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Jumeirah Bab al Shams, Al Maha, Le Royal Meridien and Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

Those anticipating a luxury desert resort will not be disappointed when greeted with Dubai’s golden sands and warm waters. The colossal skyscrapers are a reminder of the immense wealth of cosmopolitan Dubai.

Dubai makes a fantastic shopping resort and, as a result, is a great choice for those in search of a luxury family holiday with plenty to do and see. The traditional ‘souks’, or markets, attract visitors from around the globe. A myriad of narrow alleys reveal fine jewellery and herbal wares on display – fabulous gifts for a loved one during a honeymoon break to the region. Spectacular modern shopping malls can be found throughout Dubai, offering the ultimate in retail therapy and plenty of distraction for those on a family vacation.

No visit to Dubai would be complete without an Arabian Desert experience. Desert safaris, dune bashing and sand-skiing are a few of the activities on offer. The ecologically friendly desert resort properties combine well with the beach resorts to create a luxury vacation of contrast and variety.

A hive of activity, Dubai is ever-changing and still has many projects under construction. Visitors should be aware that visibility of these developments is often unavoidable. However, the destination remains a superb choice for those passionate about luxury travel and Destiny are here to make sure you get the holiday you’ve been looking for.

Please feel free to browse the site at your leisure and discover the range of luxury destinations we offer vacations to.

Ramadan

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and during this holy month Muslims must not eat, drink or smoke during daylight hours. As visitors, it is important that these traditions are respected and although hotel restaurants are open, they do not serve alcohol until the evening hours. Opening hours of public restaurants and retail outlets may change during this period and there will not be any live entertainment. The dates for Ramadan are between August 11th and September 9th 2010, although these dates are based on the position of the moon and can change.
